Peter Cao, Chairman
Peter Cao founded Great Far East in 1992 and quickly turned the company into one of China's most successful investment companies, which now possesses more than $1 billion of assets under management.
Prior to forming Great Far East, Mr. Cao worked for 15 years in the aerospace industry in China where he is well recognized for his accomplishments and received a number of business awards. Mr. Cao contributes his time to numerous business organizations, including serving two years as Vice President of the Hebei World Trade Association. Hebei is a Chinese Province with 70 million residents and is adjacent to Beijing.
Mr. Cao strongly believes in giving back to the community and dedicates significant time and resources helping families in poverty, building schools and raising funds to care for those impacted by natural disasters.
Sean Cao, Chief Executive Officer
Sean Cao was named GFE's Chief Executive Officer in 2006 and he oversees the day-to-day operations out of the company’s Irvine office. Mr. Cao is responsible for GFE's real estate portfolio and venture investments.
Mr. Cao began his career with Bacchus Development, a premier commercial real estate developer in the Irvine Spectrum area. Bacchus was ranked one of the top real estate developers in southern California during Mr. Cao’s tenure. Prior to that, Mr. Cao received a bachelors of science in business from the University of California, Riverside.
Mr. Cao has also served as President of the Orange County Chinese American Chamber of Commerce from 2010 to 2011. Under Mr. Cao's leadership, the Chamber has grown its membership by 300%, its revenue by 500% and its Scholarship Fund by 600% in less than 2 years. Mr. Cao is most proud of the Chapter's annual scholarship fund that helps provide qualified students who are in need the ability to attend college.
